Winter Storm Warning for BWG, February 15

A winter weather travel advisory is in effect with short duration and heavy snowfall expected. Today’s forecasts are anticipating 5 to 10 cm of snow to fall this afternoon with falling temperatures through into the evening with increasing wind speeds with guests up to 67km/h which could result in this afternoons snow creating white out conditions.  Our Operations Team is scheduled and ready to tackle the heavy snowfall.⁠ Please remember to keep back from snow plows and allow for enough space when driving.

Hazards

• Reduced visibility in heavy snow.

• Total snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 cm.

• Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour.

Storm and Snow Clearing Tips

• Move your car from the roadway and onto your driveway during winter storms, to allow the plows to clean the full width of the roadway.
• Clear a space at the left end of your driveway so that when the snow plow comes down your street, it pushes most of the snow into that cleared space and not at the end of your driveway.
• If using a shovel, bend at the knees and not at the back, and don’t pick up too much snow at once. Clear snow often versus letting it accumulate.
