Enforcement Officers will issue parking tickets on private property only once a Letter of Authorization is submitted and approved. The following steps are required to enforce parking on private property:
- Ensure the private lot is adequately signed, subject to approval by the Enforcement Division. A sign is required at every vehicular entrance into the lot using approved wording. If you have questions about the correct signage and wording, please contact the Enforcement Division.
- Submit the completed Letter of Authorization. Include all authorized callers and the name, contact information and signature of the property manager or owner.
- Once the Letter of Authorization is submitted, Enforcement staff will conduct a site inspection of the private lot to ensure adequate signage is posted.
- Following a successful site inspection, the Enforcement Division will provide written authorization that parking enforcement can begin.
Should you wish to report a vehicle in violation, an authorized caller can contact the Enforcement Division. Please note that the Town does not provide 24/7 coverage and an Officer will attend as soon as possible on a priority basis.
