The Town of BWG is launching its 2025 Traffic Calming Program and wants to hear from you! Two Public Information Centres (PICs) have been planned to gather feedback from residents as the Town reviews five key roadways for potential safety improvements.
The upcoming PICs will be held on:
Dates: Thursday, March 20, 2025, and Thursday, April 24, 2025
Time: 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Location: Community Corner at the BWG Leisure Centre – 471 West Park Avenue

These sessions are designed to allow residents to share their thoughts, ask questions, and learn about the proposed changes to local streets. The feedback collected will play a critical role in shaping the planned improvements.
The 2025 Traffic Calming Program is part of a broader initiative aimed at reducing traffic speeds, improving active transportation networks, and protecting vulnerable road users throughout the Town. At the November Strategic Initiatives Committee meeting, the Committee recommended a comprehensive review of five roadways, a proposal that was later endorsed by the Town Council.
The roadways under review for potential improvements are:
-
John Street
-
Summerlyn Trail
-
Miller Park Avenue
-
West Park Avenue
-
Langford Boulevard
To carry out the review and design traffic calming measures, the Town has engaged Paradigm Transportation Solutions, a consulting firm with expertise in transportation planning. The firm will assess each of the five roadways, looking for ways to enhance pedestrian access, reduce traffic speeds, and improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians.
The 2025 Traffic Calming Program reflects the Town's ongoing commitment to creating safer streets and fostering more sustainable transportation options. The Town of BWG invites all residents to participate in the PICs to ensure that the final plans reflect the community's priorities and needs.
