Join us for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 2024

In the spirit of reconciliation and partnership Rise Up BWG and the Odenaang Circle, we invite the community to memorialize the children lost to the residential school system and honour survivors, their families, and their communities.

Join us for a flag raising for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at the BWG Leisure Centre, 471 West Park Ave., on Monday September 30, 2024 at 5pm.

Attendees are invited to enjoy the areas of reflection that will surround the flag raising ceremony area and interact with the Bradford Bulldogs and Central York Panthers hockey teams who will be in site in orange Jerseys.

An information table and colouring sheets for youth will be set up, donations can be made to the Orange Shirt Society on site for those who would like to contribute.

Community members are also encouraged to view the storyboards that will be set up at Sunshine Square at the Leisure Centre from Friday, September 27 to Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
