The Town of BWG is taking on The Bradford Community Fridge Group’s #onebagchallenge to help enhance food accessibility for families in our Town and invites the community to join in the challenge too.
The #onebagchallenge encourages residents to fill a bag with fresh vegetables, bread, and other essential food items to help fill the Bradford Community Fridge, and the plates of families in need throughout BWG.
“Everyone needs a little help sometimes. Helping those in need can make someone's day a little better, whether it be with a loaf of bread or a tin of soup. Everyone deserves to eat.” – Linda Maclean of The Bradford Community Fridge Group
Once the bag is filled residents can drop it off to the Fridge located at the BWG Public Library, or contact bwgcommunityfridge@gmail.com to have one of The Bradford Community Fridge Group volunteers pick it up for you!
“The One Bag Challenge is what community is all about - coming together to help your neighbours who may not have the resources to access safe, healthy, and nutritious foods. I invite all residents to take on the challenge and help curb food insecurity in our Town”
– Mayor James Leduc
Those who wish to participate in the challenge are invited to share their donation journey on social media using the hashtags #onebagchallenge and #bwgcommunityfridge, to help raise awareness around the initiative. Together, let’s make BWG the community that helps each other.
