Our annual Volunteer Appreciation Event is an opportunity to formally recognize and thank the volunteers for their exceptional efforts.
“National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to thank and recognize the extraordinary efforts of local volunteers. These individuals dedicate so much time and effort towards our community and I am honoured to recognize their invaluable contributions during our third annual Appreciation Event!” – Mayor James Leduc
Established in 2017, the Event Volunteer Program welcomes locals to volunteer to assist with various Town-hosted community events including, Canada Day, Carrot Fest, the Santa Claus Parade, and more. Thanks to the program, the Events Team has been able to expand and provide a higher level of service at their community events.
Volunteers in the program support community events by assisting with event set up and take down, helping kids with crafts, tracking attendance, distributing information, and collecting event surveys. Hours spent volunteering can be used towards Community Involvement.
