In recognition of National Volunteer Week (April 20-26, 2025), our fourth annual Volunteer Appreciation event serves to recognize the contributions of our volunteers in events, programs, aquatics and fitness.
On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. volunteers with the Event Volunteer Program and BWG Leisure Centre programs will be invited to the Multi-Purpose Room at the BWG Leisure Centre for the Volunteer Appreciation, themed “BWG APPreciates you”. The event will include refreshments and appetizers by Off Cut & Co.
Starting in 2017, the Event Volunteer Program has established a group of volunteers that have assisted with various community events in Bradford West Gwillimbury, including Canada Day, Carrot Fest, the Santa Claus Parade and more. Through the program, the Town has been able to expand events and provide a higher level of service to the community.
Volunteers in the program assist with a variety of tasks during events such as assisting with event set up and take down, crafts, tracking attendance, distributing information and collecting event surveys. Hours spent volunteering can be used towards Community Involvement.
The Volunteer Appreciation event is an opportunity to formally recognize and thank the volunteers for their exceptional efforts.
Volunteers play an important role in putting on successful events and programs for our community. We want to take a moment to celebrate and thank them with this event.
