BWG Proclaims VON Week 2024

VON Week

May 19-25, 2024

WHEREAS: The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) Canada is a charitable community-based health care organization that addresses community health and social needs; and

WHEREAS: Every year, VON Canada marks a special week to thank dedicated staff and volunteers and celebrate the caring home and community support they deliver; and

WHEREAS: The 2024 theme for VON Week is Connected with Purpose, and celebrates the achievements of the dedicated staff and volunteers and how they will continue to contribute to a strong and efficient healthcare system; and

WHEREAS: VON’s programs and services are essential to the health and wellbeing of their clients and communities, and their ability to connect with communities allows them to make a difference in peoples lives; and

WHEREAS: Simcoe County nurses, home support workers, community service coordinators, and many other staff and volunteers have been caring for the lives and well­being of residents of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury since 2002. We celebrate the innovative and creative spirit of VON staff and volunteers, not only in our community but throughout Simcoe County; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim May 19 to 25, 2024 as VON Week in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
