WHEREAS: United Way Simcoe Muskoka is committed to driving long-term change by reducing poverty and addressing social isolation through vital programs such as Groundwork in BWG; and
WHEREAS: Groundwork, led by Wow Living, is a wrap-around program that provides life-stabilizing support for individuals living in poverty, offering mental health support, mentorship, employment training, and employment opportunities; and
WHEREAS: Coldest Night of the Year on February 22nd is a community event dedicated to raising funds for this crucial initiative, helping those in need in our community; and
WHEREAS: This event offers an opportunity for the Town of BWG to come together in solidarity to support our neighbors and make a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim February 17 – 22, 2025 as COLDEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR WEEK in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
