Bradford West Gwillimbury welcomes the Building Industry and Land Development (BILD) Association’s 2024 Greater Toronto Area municipal benchmarking review and its recommendations. BWG is committed to its ongoing improvement initiatives and continuing to build the future.
We view this review as an opportunity to inform the progressive evolution underway. The benchmarking report provides essential insights that will inform our ongoing efforts to enhance housing development, infrastructure, and service delivery for our residents.
“Bradford West Gwillimbury continues to advance its program to better meet the community needs,” said Mayor James Leduc. “We have the lowest development charges of all reviewed municipalities and are average in processing planning applications. Average is not good enough. It motivates us to double down on the ongoing improvement steps that are already leading to better results than depicted in this review.”
Mahesh Ramdeo, the town’s Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, further highlighted key areas of focus already underway to move BWG forward:
- Streamlining and strengthening our organizational structure to better serve the community.
- Identifying inefficiencies in municipal services and simplifying processes to ensure they meet the needs of residents promptly and effectively.
- Undertaking growth management and infrastructure studies to better prepare for the projected growth to 2051.
- Embracing more digital and online processes including e-permitting.
- Enhancing BWG’s customer service function to better serve residents over multiple platforms and devices.
Bradford West Gwillimbury is committed to collaborating with community stakeholders to create solutions that will advance the town and better serve our residents. “As we move forward, our focus will be on collaboration and transparency,” added Mayor Leduc. “Together, we can work towards creating a vibrant and sustainable community for all residents.”
