May 28 to June 3 is National AccessAbility Week – a week dedicated to celebrating, promoting, and supporting disability inclusion and accessibility in Canada.
Participating in AccessAbility Week
There are several ways you can get involved in Accessibility Week.
- Attend our Event and Flag Raising
Join our Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) at their Annual AccessAbility Week Event at the Leisure Centre on Monday, May 29 from 2:30 to 6:00 pm. The AAC will have a booth at the Community Corner (indoors) of the Leisure Centre, ready to answer your questions and listen to your ideas. A Flag Raising will follow at 6:00 pm at the Leisure Centre flag pole (outdoors). - Participate in Red Shirt Day!
We encourage community members to wear red on May 31 to show their support for people living with disability and their commitment to helping create an accessible and inclusive Canada. Share a selfie or group photo using hashtags #NAAW, #RedShirtDay, and #RedForAccessAbility and tag @townofbwg. Learn more at www.redshirtday.ca - Follow the Town of BWG on Social Media
