2023 VON Week

Proclamation

VON Week: May 21-27, 2023

WHEREAS:

The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) Canada is a charitable community-based health care organization that addresses community health and social needs; and

WHEREAS:

Every year, VON Canada marks a special week to thank dedicated staff and volunteers and celebrate the caring home and community support they deliver; and

WHEREAS:

The 2023 theme for VON Week is Together We Are Making A Difference. It’s a year to move forward from the challenges of the past three years with a sense of renewal; and

WHEREAS:

Appreciation, Togetherness and Purpose is used to emphasize the VON’s purpose – making a difference in people’s lives and to highlight the significant role that the VON plays in Ontario’s healthcare system; and

WHEREAS:

Simcoe County nurses, home support workers, community service coordinators, and many other staff and volunteers have been caring for the lives and wellbeing of residents of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury since 2002. We celebrate the innovative and creative spirit of VON staff and volunteers, not only in our community but throughout Simcoe County; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim May 21 to 27, 2023 as VON WEEK in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
