2023 Nursing Week

NURSING WEEK: May 8 - 14, 2023

WHEREAS:

Nursing Week is celebrated to recognize the importance of the role Nurses play in the healthcare system; and

WHEREAS:

The National Nursing Week annual celebrations take place from the Monday to the Sunday of the same week as Florence Nightingale’s birthday, May 12; and

WHEREAS:

The theme this year is “Our Nurses, Our Future” to showcase the many roles that nurses play in a patient’s health-care journey; and

WHEREAS:

The goal of Nursing Week is to raise community awareness of the professional expertise that Nurses contribute, in many capacities to the residents of Bradford West Gwillimbury; and

WHEREAS:

The pandemic brought to light the courage and commitment that nurses work under every day and showed the important role that nurses play in all communities.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim May 8 – 14, 2023 as NURSING WEEK in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
