Lyme Disease Awareness Month “Light it up Green” May 2023

WHEREAS:

Lyme Ontario is a registered, not-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness, education and information on Lyme Disease; and

WHEREAS:

Lyme Disease is a devastating illness, leaving many Canadians to suffer, including families in Bradford West Gwillimbury; and

WHEREAS:

Lyme Disease is often referred to as the “Great Imitator” as there are over 100 known symptoms. These symptoms can overlap with diseases such as MS, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, arthritis and many other diseases and can often be misdiagnosed; and

WHEREAS:

During the month of May, we ask all communities to “Light it up Green” to bring awareness and support to those in our community who are suffering with Lyme Disease.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim May 2023, as LYME DISEASE AWARENESS MONTH in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
