Refunds, Changes, Transfers, Class Postponement & NSF Cheques |
View the full Refund Policy is available online HERE Changes: If required, the Department of Community Services reserves the right to withdraw, postpone, cancel or alter any programs in this guide, without notice, due to low enrollment, policy changes or facility/instructor availability. Transfers from one program to another are permitted, provided there is space and the approval of the Department of Community Services is obtained. Requests for transfers can be made by emailing leisurecentre@townofbwg.com or calling 905-775-7529 ext 6007. Class Postponement: Should it be necessary to cancel a class, every attempt will be made to re-schedule it. If the class cannot be re-scheduled, a credit will be applied to the participant’s account for the cancelled class. NSF Cheques: If a cheque is returned NSF for any reason, the client is withdrawn immediately from the program and notified of this action. The client must make payment for the program and NSF charge fee of $50 in order to participate in the desired program. All adult programs are taxable. HST does not apply to programs for children 14 years of age and under. |
Respectful Environment |
We are committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for our patrons and our staff. For everyone’s safety, we will not tolerate rude, inappropriate or aggressive behaviour, harassment or coarse language. People who engage in this type of behaviour will be asked to leave the facility. |
Inclement Weather |
Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately and be prepared for diverse weather conditions during the selected program. Due to unforeseen circumstances, leisure programs, swimming lessons, swims and fitness classes may be cancelled. Please contact the Customer Service Desk at 905-775-7529 ext. 6007 or check our Social Media accounts before attending your program/activity. |
For Everyone's Health |
If a participant has a communicable disease (e.g. Lice, Chicken Pox, Pink Eye etc.) or a current public health concern, we would ask that the participant not attend registered programs, swimming lessons, leisure swimming or other scheduled activities. Participants are welcome to return to the program/activity when they are healthy. Any medication which a child participant is required to take during their camp program must be given to the program instructor with a medication information form completed and signed. |
Simcoe Muskoka Family Connextions |
Parents should be aware that the Child and Family Services Act requires that any suspicion of child abuse be reported immediately to Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions. |
Staff Training |
All program staff receive training including sessions on programming, child and group management, first aid, team sports, child behaviour, policies and procedures, and leadership. |
Cell Phones & Personal Digital Assistants & Photography |
The use of Electronic Devices, cell phones and Personal Digital Assistants (Blackberry, iPhone etc.) are not permitted in Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury Leisure facilities’ change rooms, dressing rooms and washrooms. The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is committed to providing a comfortable, safe environment with privacy honoured for each patron using municipal leisure facilities. Due to the sensitive nature involved with photographing or video recording children, the use of cameras and video recorders must be arranged in advance with Community Services Management. Unless a participant or guardian so indicates, the Department of Community Services will assume permission is given for any pictures taken during any department program or activity that would be used to promote Leisure Services. |
Program Requirements & Age of Participant |
All children attending programs without parent participation MUST be toilet trained. Diapers and pull-ups are not permitted. Water diapers are permitted in swimming lessons. It is asked that you send an additional change of clothes in the event that an accident does occur so the child can change themselves into dry clothing. It is asked that the parent or guardian come pick up their child if additional clothes/assistance is required. All programs are for registered participants only. Unregistered parents, children or siblings are not permitted in the area where the class is taking place, unless otherwise specified. Most children’s activities are age-specific and these age groups are determined with careful consideration. Programs are designed to challenge each specific age group. These guidelines are developed to serve the best interest of all participants, so they can enjoy a fulfilling experience in the programs. |
Lost & Found |
It is recommended that your child does not bring expensive or valuable items to the program or activity area. Please be sure that your child understands that they are responsible for their items. Money is not to be brought to programs unless specified. The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is not responsible for lost or stolen items. |
Accident Insurance |
The participant is responsible for their own hospital/medical coverage. The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury provides all safeguards for the health and welfare of the participants, but shall be released from all actions, damages, claims and demands, whatsoever arising from participation in programs. |
