1. How high can my accessory building be, and what are the setbacks?
A permit is required for anything in excess of 107 square feet. Setbacks differ depending on residential zoning.

2. How do I obtain a certificate from the Mayor’s office?
The Mayor is responsible for attending many ceremonial activities and functions on behalf of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

3. How do I rent a Facility?
Facilities, Parks & Cemeteries Department is responsible for municipally owned facilities, building operations, maintenance, development and management of the Town properties, parks and horticulture.
For information regarding Ice Rentals, Hall Rentals, Soccer Pitches and Ball Diamond Rentals call (905) 775-2162 ext. 5202 or e-mail.

4. I am building a fence. What do I need to know?
Fences do not require a permit (excluding pool enclosures). Please ensure you observe the following requirements:
- The maximum height of a fence in a residential dwelling is 6ft, including lattice
- Fencing must be no less than 5ft between houses, and/or 3ft from front corner
- Any fencing that is erected must be paid by the initiating resident. You cannot get your neighbour to pay a portion.

5. When does my garbage get picked up?
Waste is picked up on a weekly basis and is classified as Garbage, Recycling, and Organics. For more information please click here

6. Where can I find information on the Holland Marsh?
Please visit the recently launched Holland Marsh web site at www.hollandmarsh.org. It is run by the Holland Marsh Drainage System Joint Municipal Services Board. Here you will find information on the Drainage System reconstruction project, history of the Marsh, photo galleries, current events, and more.

7. When can I water my lawn?
Every year from June 1st to September 30th, the Town imposes lawn watering restrictions to ensure there will be sufficient water available to satisfy municipal needs. Lawn watering is permitted for:

South of Holland St. & Bond Head: Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday 7:30pm—11:00pm
North of Holland Street: Wednesday, Friday, & Sunday 7:30pm—11:00pm
No lawn watering is permitted on Mondays
Failure to comply will result in a fine.

A marriage license application form must be completed and signed by both parties to the marriage. The form must be submitted in person by the bride and/or groom along with the appropriate documents.

Effective, January 1, 2009 - Marriage License Fee is $130.00 - cash, Visa, Mastercard, Debit.

10. How can I renew my Ontario Health card?
To renew or obtain a new Ontario health card, you must visit a Health Card Services- OHIP office. Nearest offices are located in Newmarket and Barrie. Visit Service Ontario for more information, or call the Ministry INFOline at 1-866-532-3161 between 8:30am and 5:00pm.

11. I got a parking ticket. Where can I pay it?
- within 15 calendar days of the alleged parking infraction, you may deliver or mail payment to:

- within 7 calendar days of the alleged infraction, you may be eligible to make an early payment at the discounted rate as indicted on your ticket
- after 15 calendar days, the Town can no longer accept payment, and the ticket will become property of the Provincial court system.

13. What do I need a permit for?
You need a permit for any structure in excess of 107 square feet. Please see our Building Division for more information or contact our Permit Administrator at (905) 775-5369 ext. 1506

14. What are my taxes?
Your total taxes can be calculated by multiplying Tax Rate X Current Year Assessment. Further information can be found by visiting our Finance Department
